to have an appointment with someone
I have an appointment with my psychologist.
to give someone an appointment
I’d like to meet you tomorrow / I’d like to give you an appointment for tomorrow.
to arrange an appointment
We agreed to meet at 3pm.
to make an appointment
I’d like to make an appointment for next week.
to bring forward an appointment
Can we bring our meeting forward by an hour?
to change an appointment
I need to change the time of the appointment I have tomorrow.
to postpone an appointment
I’m running late. Can we put put back our meeting by two hours?
to cancel an appointment
Unfortunately, the appointment was cancelled.
We can also say:
- J’ai eu un rendez-vous amoureux avec lui. I had a date with him.
- Quelle est l’heure / la date / le lieu du rendez-vous ? What time/date/venue is the appointment?
RDV is the abbreviated form of rendez-vous. We mainly use it in e-mails or SMS messages.
