1 On :

On parle à la dame (We are talking to the lady). In everyday spoken French, we often use on (one, we) in place of nous (we): on parle à la dame (informal) → nous parlons à la dame (formal). Note that on follows the same conjugation pattern as il and elle: il/elle parle (he/she speaks), on parle (one speaks, we speak).

1 Nous :

With nous (we), the verb takes the ending -ons, but the verb form here is parle, which is used with il (he), elle (she) and on (one, we). Example: nous parlons de nos vacances (we're talking about our vacation).

2 Nous :

Nous parlons à la dame (We are talking to the lady) parler, présent. The ending -ons always corresponds to the nous (we) form. Example: nous parlons souvent de politique (we often talk about politics). How cheery.

The ending -ons always corresponds to the nous (we) form, while on (one, we) follows the same conjugation pattern as il/elle (he/she). Example: on parle avec notre voisin (we are talking to our neighbor).
