Vous avez mal dormi (you slept badly) is the opposite of vous avez bien dormi (you slept well). In the perfect tense, mal/bien is placed between the auxiliary verb (here, avez) and the past participle (here, dormi). Example: nous avons mal/bien mangé (we ate badly/well).
Mauvais/mauvaise (bad) is the opposite of bon/bonne (good), not of bien (well). We use bon and mauvais in front of a noun, not a verb as in our sentence. Example: j'ai passé une bonne nuit (I had a good night's sleep) / j'ai passé une mauvaise nuit (I had a bad night's sleep).
