Poor Théo is having no luck finding an apartment! Complete each sentence to describe the apartment in the associated image.

L'appartement est très petit 1.

C'est très bruyant 2 ici.

L'appartement est très cher 3.
L'appartement est très petit (The apartment is very small). The opposite of petit (small) is grand (large). Example: Michel vit dans un petit village (Michel lives in a little village); Londres est une grande ville (London is a big city).
We use peu (little) + noun to refer to a small quantity, but it doesn't work here. The opposite of peu (little) is beaucoup (lots). Example: il y a peu de place ici ! (there isn't much room here!); il y a beaucoup de place ici ! (there's lots of room here!).
We use court (short) to refer to the length of something, but not the surface area of a flat, as in this case (9 m2). Example: tes cheveux sont très courts (your hair is very short).
C'est très bruyant par ici (It's very noisy here). Bruyant is pronounced . Example: cette rue est trop bruyante ! (this street is too noisy!).
Le bruit (noise) is the noun associated with the verb bruyant (noisy). Example: je déteste le bruit des voitures ! (I hate the noise of cars!).
Calme (calm) is the opposite of what is shown in this image, as the apartment is very noisy. Example: c'est très calme, la campagne (the countryside is very quiet).
L'appartement est très cher (The apartment is very expensive). The feminine form of cher is chère. Example: ce collier est cher (this necklace is expensive); cette montre est chère (this watch is expensive).
Gratuit means “free of charge”, which is too good to be true for Théo as this image shows an apartment that is très cher (very expensive).
We could use riche (rich) to describe the owner of the flat. However, we say cher (expensive) when talking about the price.
