To make vs to do
动词to do和to make有时候在其他语言了被翻译成一个动词。但是什么时候该使用哪个呢？很难有一个固定的规则:to do与某些词一起用, to make与其他一起, 与哪些词一起用只能靠记忆:

普遍用法:
• To do主要用作指工作，任务，等等:

Kevin did not do any work today. 凯文今天没有做任何工作。
• To make 主要指创造，建造，生产...:
I'll make a cake for her birthday. 我会为她的生日做一个蛋糕。
Bruno made a little house for Stink in the garden. 布鲁诺给斯丁克在花园里修了一座小房子。
注意: To make a decision而不是to take a decision。即使to take a decision在英语里也存在(主要在英式英语中)，这个结构来自于法语，并且很少使用(表示在几个选项中作选择)。然而，to MAKE a decision使用更普遍:
I made the decision to sell the company. 我决定卖出公司。
After interviewing all the applicants, we took the decision to hire the second candidate. 在给所有申请人面试之后，我们决定雇佣第二个候选人。
某些有用的表达法:
I can't make it to the meeting. 这次会议我不能来。
I made it! 我成功啦！
Well done! 做得好！ I would like my steak well done. 我点的牛排要全熟。
Make sure it gets done. 确保这个事情已经完成了。
