定义

(Alice doesn't live here) anymore: (爱丽丝不)再(住这儿了) adverb

They don't make cars like this anymore. 他们不再生产这样的汽车。
(Are there) any more (paper clips?): 还(有回形针吗?) adverb
在疑问结构中,any more 用来表示我们对可能的回答没有把握;而在否定结构中,它则用来表示缺少或缺乏某物:

(I have) no more (time): (我)没有更多(时间了) adverb
No more 用在肯定结构表示缺少或缺乏某物,有时也可以表示动作的结束:

"You don't work here anymore".

From the list below, choose those statements which express the same meaning as Luna's sentence, and are grammatically correct.

There may be more than one correct answer!
"Furthermore" shares a similar meaning with "moreover" or "additionally". It does not make sense here.
"Any longer" is an alternative to "anymore", and this statement is correct. Another example: "I'm not going to accept your bad behaviour any longer: things must change".
This sentence is grammatically incorrect: it is a "double negative". To make sense, it could read either "you don't work here any more" or "you no longer work here".
This sentence is grammatically correct, and conveys Luna's meaning. "No longer" shares a similar meaning with "no more", and expresses that a situation or event has ended. Example: "I no longer want to eat meat".
练习 2
Winter is coming.
I won’t be able to wear dresses .
I will swim in the sea.
I will lay my bare feet on the burning sand!.
What a downer!
Winter is coming.
I won’t be able to wear dresses anymore 1.
I will no longer 2 swim in the sea.
I will no longer 3 lay my bare feet on the burning sand!.
What a downer!
1 anymore: "Anymore" is used to express a change of situation in this context. It is used after a negation. Example: “I used to like penguins, but I don’t like them anymore”.
1 no longer: We can't add "no longer" to this sentence, because it already contains the negative auxiliary "won't". We add "no longer" to an affirmative sentence to indicate the end of an action or habit. We could say: "I will no longer be able to wear dresses".
2 no longer: “No longer” indicates that the action of swimming will not continue in the future (presumably because the temperature is too low in winter). Another example: "My best friend has moved to Peru. I will no longer spend my Saturday evenings playing word games with him. I am deeply sad".
2 anymore: "Anymore" is used after a negation. There is no negation in this sentence. We could say: “I won’t swim in the sea anymore.”
3 no longer: Again, “no longer” indicates that the action of laying feet on sand will not continue in the future. Another example: "According to new company rules, we can no longer refer to any colleague as 'that idiot'".
3 anymore: "Anymore" is used after a negation. There is no negation in this sentence. We could say: “I won’t lay my feet on the sand anymore".
练习 3
Select "no longer" if you think it can be added to the sentence, or select [-] if you think that "no longer" cannot be added to the sentence.

Jean: I take the subway now I’ve got a bike.
Edward: I bet that feels good.
Jean: But I can ignore the weather forecast now.
Edward: And do you get to work on time?
Jean: No, and I can’t blame it on public transport suicides anymore.
Select "no longer" if you think it can be added to the sentence, or select [-] if you think that "no longer" cannot be added to the sentence.

Jean: I no longer 1 take the subway now I’ve got a bike.
Edward: I bet that feels good.
Jean: But I can no longer 2 ignore the weather forecast now.
Edward: And do you get to work on time?
Jean: No, and I can’t [-] 3 blame it on public transport suicides anymore.
1 no longer: Jean can say "I no longer take the subway now I’ve got a bike". This implies a change of situation: he used to take the subway, but that action has stopped. Another example: "I no longer eat meat, because I watched a film about conditions in factory farms".
1 [-]: "No longer" can be added to this sentence.
2 no longer: Jean can say "I can no longer ignore the weather forecast now". This implies another change of situation: before, he was able to ignore the forecast, but now he cannot. Another example: "Since her accident, my mother can no longer dress herself".
2 [-]: "No longer" can be added to this sentence.
3 [-]: Because "anymore" is already used at the end of the sentence to express a change of situation, we don’t require the use of "no longer".
3 no longer: We cannot add "no longer" after a negative auxiliary such as "can't". "No longer" is added to affirmative sentences to indicate a change of situation. "I can't blame it on public transport suicides anymore" and "I can no longer blame it on public transport suicides" have the same meaning.
