2 peak hour: A "peak hour call" is one which is made during a period of high activity. The "peak hours" are the hours which have the highest activity or traffic during the day. For example, the peak hours of a freeway might be from 8:00 to 10:00 AM in the morning.
2 conference: A "conference call" is a call featuring more than two people.
3 local: A local call is a call made within the same zone. For example, a call from one person in San Francisco to another person in San Francisco is a local call. Generally, local calls are included in most phone plans.

3 short distance: A "short distance call" has no meaning in English. Calls from one person to another in the same zone or area are called "local calls".
3 close: "A close call" has no meaning in terms of phones, however the idiom itself does have a meaning. "A close call" is a "narrow escape". We use the expression when we have avoided something dangerous by a close margin. For example: I almost fell down the stairs, it was a close call.
4 area code or dialing code: The prefix of a telephone number is called the area code or dialing code. These numbers (3 in the United States, 4 or 6 in England) determine the region or area you are calling.
4 zip code or postcode: A zip code, postcode or postal code determines the location a letter or parcel is to be sent. This information is unrelated to the telephone.
4 extension: An extension is a short number, generally used in corporations or organizations with multiple departments, used to identify an individual or a department. Extensions can be reached either manually or with the assistance of an operator.
4 Davinci code: Yes! No, wait. No. This is incorrect.
5 operator: The person who connects one caller to another is called the "operator", or the "switchboard operator". In this dialogue, Philip pretends to be a switchboard operator.
5 connector: A "connector" is a term used to describe objects (electrical, metal, etc) which join two things together. We do not use this term to describe a person.
5 mediator: A mediator acts as a neutral party or intermediary during a debate or conversation. We do not use the term to describe a phone "operator".
5 phone fairy: There is no such thing as the phone fairy! A fairy is a small person with little wings who flies around and has magical properties, like Tinkerbell from Peter Pan! Amazing!
5 standardist: In English, this term has no ostensible meaning.
