练习 1
"" is a phrase used at the end of the dialogue which means "to be based upon".
"To revolve around" is a phrase used at the end of the dialogue which means "to be based upon".
To revolve around: "To revolve (around something)" literally means "to turn", or "to orbit". For example: Copernicus believed that the earth revolved around the sun. The term also expresses the sense of being the focus or topic or basis for something, as in the sentence "Einstein's most famous theory revolves around the idea of relativity" Delavigne's new line of perfumes "revolves around" the theme of floral habitats, meaning that the perfumes are based on this theme.
To be introduced to: "To be introduced to" is not synonymous with "to center around" or "to be based upon". In English, one can be introduced either a person, idea or object. For example, "I was introduced to French cuisine at the age of thirteen".
To refer to: Although "to refer to" is synonymous with "to center around" or "to be based upon" in many cases, this phrase is not actually used in the dialogue.
To support avidly: "To support (a team) avidly" is to be an active supporter or fan of the team. This expression is not synonymous with "to revolve around". Susie talks about Delavigne being an "avid supporter" of environmental and animal rights initiatives, which means the company contributes and participates in these causes.
