A ballad is a simple song, often slow and romantic in nature. Example: After my wife left me, I sat in my pants listening to Elkie Johns love BALLADS. In the conversation, Bruno uses the term "ballad" as a loose synonym of a piece of music with words ("a ballad that inspires company pride and joy").
