'To be annoyed' by something is to be 'upset' or 'irritated' by something. 'To be bored' and 'to be frustrated' are two very different ideas.
'To be bothered' by something is to be 'irritated' or 'troubled' by it. 'To be bored' and 'to be bothered' are two very different ideas in this context.
Although Philip does suggest that he and Icarus play a joke on Icarus, his statement 'I'm bored as hell', does not indicate this. 'Playful' and 'mischievous' are synonyms and express the idea of being in a 'joking' or 'fun' mood.
If someone is 'bored', they are 'uninterested' in what they are doing, or in need of distraction. Something can also be 'boring', which means it is 'uninteresting' or 'tedious'. People, films, books and conversations can be 'boring'. In addition, the verb 'to bore' has a second meaning: 'to make a hole in something or to drill' or to penetrate by drilling'. 'I'm bored as hell' is a familiar expression meaning 'I am extremely bored'.
