1 shooting: Jean was "shooting" a gun. Example: Warbuckle shoots bears! "To shoot" is an irregular verb (shoot/shot/shot). A single act of shooting is called a "(gun) shot".
2 gun: A "gun" is a firearm, or a weapon that fires bullets. Guns go "bang!" when you fire them. Jean was shooting a gun when Bruno entered the office. This is because he misunderstood the meaning of the term "troubleshooting".
