Now we will discuss Xavier's soup. I hope you're hungry!

Xavier loved his soup more than anything else --> False 1.
Xavier ate soup every day --> True 2.
1 False: This statement is false. Although Xavier loved his soup, it is not what he loved "most". Bruno says that what Xavier "loved most", or "above all", were his friends. Do not confuse "ate" (a form of the verb "to eat") with the verb "to hate", which means "to detest".
1 True: This statement is not true.
2 True: This is a true statement. Bruno says that "Xavier's daily soup will go cold tonight". The adjective "daily" describes something which occurs every day. In this case, Xavier ate soup every day. Do not confuse "ate" (a form of the verb "to eat") with the verb "to hate", which means "to detest". To say that "Xavier's soup went cold" is a metaphorical way of saying that Xavier is dead, since his soup will literally "go cold" and not be eaten!
2 False: This statement is not false.

This statement is true and the main point of this scene. Luna wants to create the opportunity to collect the staff's ideas about improvements which could be made to the Delavigne offices.
练习 4
Choose the TRUE statement from the list below.

Choose the TRUE statement from the list below.
This statement is false. When Moira asks Brent if he exercises, he responds by saying, "I play chess...sometimes...on my computer". Chess is a game played on a board with light and dark squares with pieces like kings and queens. Playing chess may exercise the brain, but it does not exercise the body, especially when played on the computer. Brent does not do physical exercise on a regular basis.
This statement is false. There is no indication that Brent's father was a fan of Radio Rhubarb Brent, says his father "was a huge fan of red wine". Brent's father was a big fan of wine, not of Radio Rhubarb. A fan is an admirer, supporter or advocate of something (a sports team, a person, a type of food or drink).
This statement is false. Brent tells Moira that his father used to drink wine "for lunch and dinner, sometimes even breakfast" which does indicate that he drank regularly. However Brent goes on to say that his father "died of a heart attack at the age of 48". Brent's father did not live a long life, nor was he particularly healthy!
This is a true statement. Moira tells Brent that she "jogs three miles every morning". The words "jog" and "run" are synonymous. Three miles is just less than five kilometres. Moira does indeed run every morning.
