1 dwarf: A "dwarf" (plural "dwarves" or "dwarfs") is a person who is smaller than average size. In Norse mythology and fantasy literature, a dwarf usually has a beard and lives underground. Dwarves are cooler than Elves and Orcs, but not as cool as Hobbits or Ents.
2 giant: A "giant" is an extremely large person or thing. In fairy tales, legends or mythology a giant is usually an evil creature. In basketball, giants are usually quite useful.
3 shoulders: The "shoulder" is the part of the body between the neck and the top of the arm. Philip's poster describes "a dwarf standing on the shoulders of a giant", this is so that the dwarf can see a longer distance.
