"Like" is a word added in spoken English when a person hesitates, or estimates something. It usually doesn't change the meaning of the sentence very much.

  • "Joe is like 6 foot 3!"
  • "Philip : Anyway, my friend Joe, he weighs like 250 pounds."
  • "I need, like, three thousand copies by Tuesday!"
