This is incorrect. A "merger" is a form of union between two or more companies. Mr. Wang says that he is "planning a hostile takeover of (Bruno and Harold's) companies". A "hostile takeover" describes an acquisition of a corporation by buying or exchanging stocks, and which is resisted by the management of the target company.
This is correct. Mr. Wang says that he "will own enough stock in your companies to have a controlling interest by the market's close tomorrow night". This means that Mr. Wang is warning Bruno and Harold that he will buy enough stock to be able to take over their companies. However, when he says "I am joking", we know that he was only pretending ("to joke" is to pretend, to say something that is not serious).
This is incorrect. Mr. Wang says "So your answer is no? I expected this answer". To "expect (an answer)" means that the answer was "anticipated", for example: I expect rain tomorrow, so I shall take an umbrella with me.
