练习 1
Candy reports that this coming weekend .
Candy reports that this coming weekend there will be no clouds.
there will be no clouds: Candy says in her report that this weekend there will be "no clouds in sight", which expresses that "there will be no clouds", or that the sky will be cloudless. "Sight" refers to what can be seen by the eye. To say that there "aren't any clouds in sight" means that no clouds can be seen.
the clouds will be on the horizon: Candy never says that "the clouds will be on the horizon", which is where the sky appears to meet the earth. She says that there will be "no clouds in sight".
the sky will be overcast: An "overcast" sky is completely obscured by clouds. This isn't what Candy is predicting.
there will be both sunshine and clouds: Candy reports that this weekend, there will be "no clouds in sight". Although she does report a few clouds in today's forecast, during the weekend the skies will be clear.
