Near the beginning of the dialogue, Mr. Steele talks about "this position". What is he referring to?
In spoken English, it is not very common that someone would refer to his seat as his "position". "Place", "seat", "spot" and "chair" are all more frequent nouns used to describe the place where a person is sitting.
Although "a position" can refer to a person's "opinion" or "stance" on an issue, in this case the "position" which Mr. Steel refers to is the job opportunity at Delavigne. In a different context, we might ask "What is your position on the war in Iraq?".
It makes no sense for Mr. Steele to say that he is "more than qualified" for the position of being interviewed. In fact, we would probably never refer to an "interviewee" as a "position".
This is the best choice here. We know that Mr. Steele is in an interview for a "position" in the IT department. Also, Mr. Steele mentions his "resumé" ("CV") and says that he is "more than qualified for this position". These terms make it clear that he can only be referring to a "position" as a "job".
