To "transfer" money means to "move" money from one place to another', often from one bank account to another. Example: I need to transfer more money to my checking account so that my check will clear.
To "incur" charges means to "acquire" or "become liable for" charges as a result of something that was done. Example: I incurred two additional charges because my application was late.
To "reimburse" someone for money spent is to "pay back" or "compensate" someone for money spent, and shares a similar meaning with the term "refund".
To "defer" payment is postpone or put it aside. The term does not share a similar meaning with "to reimburse" which is to re-pay money which has already been spent.

This statement is true. Jeanine tells Kevin that the 67 cent charge which he is calling about was listed on the 12th rather than the 11th. She is explaining that there was a delay in the listing.
Jeanine never says that Kevin's money will be "refunded", which means that the bank will pay him back the money he is owed. Jeanine also says that Kevin's error is only a "printing mistake".
This statement is true. Jeanine tells Kevin that the money he is concerned about is "only the tax from the previous charge" (from a purchase at Ralph's Nut House).
This statement is false. In this context, the "records" Kevin mentions refer to information about Kevin's bank account.

1 a refusal of responsibility: A "disclaimer" is used by companies to refuse responsibility: to explain that they cannot be held responsible for certain events or happenings. Example: "If you read the disclaimer, you will see that we are not responsible for your accident".
1 a final note: Although the "disclaimer" comes at the end of this invoice, the terms "disclaimer" and "final note" are unrelated in meaning.
1 an advertisement: The term "advertisement" refers to a paid "notice" or "announcement" for publicity purposes, usually made by a company wishing to sell its products. It does not share a similar meaning with "disclaimer".
1 a refund: A "refund" is money credited to someone for the return of a product or service which has been purchased. This is unrelated in meaning to the term "disclaimer".
2 payment for a loss: To "compensate" someone in this context is to pay them money as "reparation" or "reimbursement". We receive "compensation" when we return a "faulty" or "damaged" product, or when someone has caused us harm. Example: "I received compensation after I fell over at work".
2 payment: "Compensation" can take the form of financial "payment", but the two terms are not synonymous.
2 purchase: The term "purchase" refers to an item which one has "bought". It is unrelated in meaning to the term "compensation".
2 bill: A "bill" is an "invoice" and is unrelated in meaning to the term "compensation".
3 reimburse: To "refund" someone's money is to give it back or "return" it to them. This usually happens when customers have been provided with a faulty product or bad service. Example: "I got a refund for my concert ticket because the band only played for ten minutes".
3 resend: To "resend" means to "send again" and is unrelated in meaning to the term "refund".
3 return: To "return" an item means to "give it back" and is unrelated in meaning to the term "refund".
3 replace: To "replace" an item means to "change" or "swap" it, and is unrelated in meaning to the term "refund".
4 considered responsible: When we "hold someone liable (for a mistake)", we consider that they are "responsible for" or "guilty of" the error. Example: "Customers will be liable for any accidents and must pay for items they break".
4 found guilty: Judges "find someone guilty (of a crime)" in a legal, courtroom setting. This is not an appropriate synonym for "to be held liable".
4 given compensation: To "be given compensation" is to receive money as "reparation" or "reimbursement". This is not an appropriate synonym for "to be held liable".
4 likely: In a different context, "to be liable (to do something)" is to be "likely" to do it. However, this is not the meaning of "to be held liable" in this context.

1 flight: "Flight" is the term we were looking for here. A "flight" is a journey through the air, usually in a plane or helicopter. We also talk about "birds" flight'.
2 downgrade: "Downgrade" is the right answer. To "downgrade" something is to get a less expensive, less recent, or less good version of it! In the dialogue, Philip "downgrades" is plane ticket from a business class ticket to an economy class ticket in order to save money. Note that the opposite of "to downgrade" is "to upgrade". Example: "The air hostess upgraded my ticket to business class because I smiled at her".
3 refund: "Refund" is the correct answer here. To "refund someone's money" is to return their money to them. There is also a related noun: "a refund". In the dialogue, Philip receives "a refund" because he swaps an expensive ticket for a cheap ticket.
4 airfare: "Airfare" is the right answer. "Airfare" is the money you pay for an aeroplane ticket. Example: "The airfare alone was $4000, so I won't be able to spend much money on a hotel!".

1 return: In this context, the verb "to return" is synonymous with "to exchange" or "to take back". Products are generally "returned" for other items (of the same value), "store credit" (a voucher or coupon good towards another item or items) or a "refund" (repayment of the money originally spent on the item).
2 receipt: A "receipt" describes an acknowledgment of purchase or payment, often in the form of a piece of paper. For example: Many people keep their receipts for major purchases: televisions, cars, etc. In this conversation, Brian asks Philip if he has his receipt, or proof of purchase, for a bottle of Delavigne cologne.
3 defective: A "defective" product is broken or dysfunctional, however the term is used mostly to describe a problem due to a manufacturing default. In other words, a defective product is not the fault of the consumer, but rather the manufacturer. Example: Toyota is recalling 1000 cars due to a defective steering wheel.
4 credit: A "(store) credit" refers to a coupon, voucher or a payment, an amount of money, a sum (towards a purchase). Store credit is often given to customers instead of a full cash refund, which obliges them to spend their money in the store. In this conversation, Brian tells Philip that maybe a "clerk" at the store will give him "store credit" for his bottle of perfume.
5 refund: A "refund" is money credited to someone for the return of a product or service which has been purchased. Note that it is actual cash (or a reimbursement via transfer), rather than a credit. "A full cash refund" is reimbursement in the form of cash.
