To "be smashed" is to be very drunk, but this does not share a similar meaning with "to have a smashing time".
A glass does "smash" when it breaks, but in this context "smashing" is used figuratively.
This is the best choice here. To "have a smashing" time is to "have a great time" or "enjoy yourself". As an adjective, "smashing" means "great" or "wonderful". Example: "-Let's go for a swim. -What a smashing idea!".
