This is an incorrect choice. There is no direct comparison made between the two and no similarities are described. Hannah gives us the impression that the old pension plan in Europe was quite good. She describes people getting "large state pensions" in the past. It doesn't seem that the state pension plan in the US of $500 a month is particularly large, but then it all depends on what you're used to!

The recording does not mention how much old people in the US spend on shopping per month. We can not assume that all the elderly in the US are the same as Hannah!
