2 blind: Someone who cannot see is "blind". Many famous people have succeeded in life despite being blind: Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Eros the Roman god of love, among others. Daredevil, the comic book hero, is also blind.
3 deal: In this context, a deal refers to an arrangement or agreement (usually between two parties). When Jean tells Kevin, "we have a deal", he is signaling his acceptance of Kevin's offer of lunch in exchange for his help.
4 helpless: "(A) helpless (person)" is dependent, powerless or incapable in some way. In this telephone conversation, Kevin informs Jean that after his surgery, he will be temporarily blind, and therefore "helpless". This is the reason that Kevin has requested Jean's help.

The "costela" is a traditional Brazilian dish comprised of "beef ribs". Did you know? The Latin term for ribs is "costae", hence the root of the term "costela"!
2 flavor: The "flavor" (US) or "flavour" (UK) of a food describes its taste. In this scene, the waiter says that the "flavor" of the costela makes him want to dance, and earlier uses the adjective "flavorful" to describe the costela.
3 surgery: "Surgery" is a medical procedure performed by cutting the body. "Surgeries" are performed by "surgeons". Kevin tells Jean that he intends to have laser surgery to correct his vision. This is an elective surgery which is becoming more popular, and that I would consider having one day, although I do enjoy wearing spectacles.
