To transfer a call means to pass a telephone call to from one person to another one.
"To drop" the phone is not the same thing as to "transfer" a phone call. "To drop (the phone)" means to let it fall from your hand to the floor.
"To pick up" the phone is not the same thing as to "transfer" a phone call. You pick up the phone with your hand, in order to make a telephone call.
"To hang up" is not the same thing as to "transfer" a phone call. "To hang up (a telephone)" means to end a telephone call by putting the receiver back on the hook, for example: I was so angry with the telephone receptionist that I hung up.

Jean is not exchanging currency, which is the process of converting one currency to another. Jean is expecting to receive an "international wire transfer".
Jean begins this dialogue by telling the bank clerk that he wants to "receive a huge sum". A "huge sum of money" is a large amount of money. Jean then explains that his friend is sending the money from Kalackistan. The bank clerk then correctly identifies what Jean wants by asking, "So this is an international wire transfer?". An "international wire transfer" is the process of sending money electronically from one country to another. Jean has gone to the bank in order to obtain this information.
Jean asks the bank clerk how to receive an "international wire transfer", which is the process of sending money from one country to another (by wire, or electronically). Jean knows that the money hasn't yet been placed in his account, he is inquiring as to how this is done. "To credit" money to someone's account is to give or award someone money.

transfer your call: "I would transfer your call" is the best choice to replace "I would put you through". To "transfer a call" is to use a telephone switchboard to pass a caller from one telephone to another, so that a different person can talk to them. This shares a similar meaning with "to put someone through". Example: "Please wait a moment madam, I'll just transfer your call".
pass you through: To "pass something through (a tunnel)" is to push it from one side to the other. This does not make sense here, and does not share a similar meaning with "to put someone through" in the context of a phone call.
