La s alla terza persona singolare
Al presente, i verbi regolari si coniugano aggiungendo una s alla terza persona singolare:

Ai verbi che terminano in 'ss' 'ch' 'sh' o 'x' bisogna aggiungere 'es':

The priest blesses his wine. Il prete benedice il vino. (to bless)
Susie relaxes every day after lunch. Susie si riposa tutti giorni dopo pranzo. (to relax)
Per i verbi che terminano in una consonante seguita da y, si sostituisce la y con ies. Questa regola non si applica ai verbi che terminano in una vocale seguita da y, che si coniugano normalmente.
