The term "animosity" shares a similar meaning "with "hostility", and refers to "dislike", "aggression", or even 'hatred". Now, that's not very nice, is it?
This statement is false. Jean tells us that "it is harder and harder to obtain a green card in America", which means that it is now more difficult to obtain papers than it was in the past, not easier.
