current | achieves | displays | knowledge
Bob is a competent worker who inspires confidence and respect. He displays 1 a strong knowledge 2 of current 3 IT systems and achieves 4 results with precision and accuracy. We are very satisfied with his performance.
1 displays: The term "to display" means to show or exhibit and is often used to describe an individual's characteristics or traits. For example: When Mr Smith worked for us he displayed an organized approach to stealing the company's money.
2 knowledge: In this context, the term "knowledge" is a close synonym of "understanding" or "familiarity (with something)". For example: A knowledge of basic accounting is necessary for a job in the finance department. The sentence, "Bob has a strong knowledge of current IT systems" means Bob is well-informed about modern IT systems.
3 current: If something is "current", it belongs to the present time. For example: Newspapers provide information about current events. The sentence, "Bob displays a strong knowledge of current IT systems" means Bob is well-informed about today's IT systems.
4 achieves: "To achieve" means to successfully reach a goal or objective. For example: Brian achieved a gold medal in the Olympics. "To achieve results" is a very common word partnership. For example: The most important thing in this job is achieving results.

Currently, Lawrence Laughsalot is an instructor 1.
In the past, Lawrence Laughsalot was a pilot in the military 2.
In the past, Lawrence Laughsalot was a pilot in the military 2.
1 an instructor: This is correct. Lawrence tells Icarus "I'm retired now and I travel around and instruct people on enjoying life." An instructor is a sort of teacher, although Mr. Laughsalot is also a consultant, as we discovered earlier in this story.
1 a pilot in the military: Lawrence tells Icarus that he used to a pilot in Her Majesty's Royal Airforce, however he then says that he is "retired now", and that he instructs people on how to have fun. This question asks for Lawrence's current profession, which refers to his profession "at the moment" or "these days".
1 a pigeon trainer: There is no evidence that Lawrence is a pigeon trainer. Lawrence does say that he used to be called "fighting hell pigeon" in his heyday, but here he is referring to a nickname which he was given during his time in the army.
1 a tourist: Although Lawrence mentions that he travels around these days, it is to instruct people and do consulting work.
2 a pilot in the military: Lawrence tells Icarus that he used to be in the military, specifically the airforce. We can assume from this information that he was a pilot. One's "former" profession is their "previous" job, or the job they had before their current one.
2 an instructor: Lawrence is currently an instructor, but he is retired from an earlier position as a pilot in the military. This question asks for Lawrence's previous, or "former" job.
2 a tourist: Although Lawrence mentions that he travels around these days, it is to instruct people and do consulting work.
2 a pigeon trainer: There is no evidence that Lawrence is, or was ever, a pigeon trainer. Lawrence does say that he used to be called "fighting hell pigeon" in his heyday, but here he is referring to a nickname which he was given during his time in the army.

The terms "initiative" and "procedure" are not synonyms. A "procedure" usually describes a general process of some kind. It can be a medical or legal procedure, for example. An "initiative" usually refers to a legislative measure or action. The two words may have similar meanings, but they are not synonyms.
Both "innumerable" and "countless" indicate a very large or infinite amount (an amount which is so large it can't easily be counted). These two terms are synonyms in this context.
Standard' and "current" are not synonyms. "Current (events)" are the events which are occurring "presently" or "at the moment". As an adjective, "standard" means "regular", "customary" or "normal".
"Doubts" and "feeling" are not synonymous. A "doubt" is a certain type of feeling which indicates uncertainty or hesitation, whereas a "feeling" is simply an impression or sentiment. On its own, (without being modified by another term), the word doesn't indicate what type of feeling is being experienced!
