Icarus describes himself as being "upset" by Wendy's behaviour: he does not say that SHE was "upset". To be "upset" is to be "sad" or "emotionally disturbed".
Icarus writes that he received "abuse" from Wendy, which means that she behaved "aggressively" or "abusively" towards him. These two terms share a similar meaning.
