O simple past (passado simples) dos verbos regulares
O past simple (passado simples) é usado para descrever ações concluídas no passado. Por isso, costuma aparecer com expressões de tempo como ago (atrás), last (último/a), yesterday (ontem), in + ano, etc.
Eu visitei Londres há 3 anos.
Ontem eu lavei meu carro.
Para os verbos regulares, adicionamos -ed ao final do infinitivo (sem to) para todos os sujeitos.
to walk (caminhar, andar)
---
I walked (eu caminhei)
you walked (você caminhou)
She / He / It walked (ela/ele caminhou)
We walked (nós caminhamos)
You walked (vocês caminharam)
They walked (eles/elas caminharam)
Nós andamos até a praia ontem à noite.
Há algumas variações de ortografia a ter em mente:
- Verbos terminados em -e → adiciona-se apenas o -d.
- Verbos terminados em vogal + consoante → (em geral) dobram a consoante.
- Verbos terminados em consoante + y → o y vira i.

We loved Caroline's dinner. When you want to conjugate a verb that ends in -e (like to love) in the past simple tense, simply add -d at the end. Examples: to manage → managed; to rate → rated.
