I can speak French “acceptably” but not very well (B1 level). I started it just for fun, and I thought, what can be done in 10 to 15 minutes a day? It turns out: hell of a lot! I am about two years into the course and I am getting much better. I can speak confidently on the phone, write emails, read books and listen to the French news and understand just about everything. Not bad, for having fun learning it every day. The secret lies in working every day. This method is not "fast", but very sound. I started Italian as well, to get from my A2 level to, hopefully, B2.
