I chose Hotel Borbollón because I am a self-learner. The problem is that it's hard to control your own progress and I tended to repeat the same topics over and over again because I felt I still wasn't good enough. Another problem is that classical learning courses consistently negate today's reality of a united Europe. Today, one is not only a business traveler or tourist and wants to reel off the same topics of travel (mostly by car), hotel, eating out, shopping, sick, flirting, regional studies (but one cannot tell about one's own country, it is not provided). Today, colleagues from other EU countries work with me in the office and why shouldn't I take the opportunity to learn their language? To put it briefly, Hotel Borbollón helps me not to get stuck and offers a wealth of topics that are also suitable for everyday life. Besides, it's done in a funny way. What gives me major problems is the grammar. There, the constant jumping back and forth is a big drawback, at least for me. Since I am A2, I am still learning the different tenses. So I can't do anything with parts of the lesson, I have to look up what is actually wanted from me and then I can't do much with the explanations in the solution. Also the practicing comes much too short. In the meantime, I only use Hotel Borbollón on the side and mainly work with books and workbooks again, where the grammar is explained to me with a red thread and I have more opportunities to practice (practice makes perfect - Spanish verb tenses and the study books from Lingolia, really good).
