Select the TRUE statements from the list below, according to the letter.

There may be more than one correct answer!
This statement is true. In the final paragraph of his letter, Kyle Krabb writes "there will be no need to take legal action against our restaurant, since I have myself begun proceedings against the terrorists in question". Kyle describes the environmental extremists who put Anthrax on Icarus' tuna as "terrorists". "To sue" is to bring legal proceedings against someone who has done you harm.
This statement is false. Mr Krabb writes that Icarus' illness "was not a question of hygiene in the kitchen, nor of out-of-date tuna.". This "not...nor" construction describes two things which are false. Food is "out-of-date" when it has expired or is too old to be safe to eat.
This is a true statement. Mr Krabb writes "I have included restaurant vouchers to the value of $300". The term "voucher" shares a similar meaning with "coupon" and describes a document which has a set value and can be exchanged for goods. Example: "My brother gave me a £30 voucher for my favourite record shop for my birthday".
That's not very likely, now, is it? Even in this day and age where terrorists are everywhere, Icarus is unlikely to be mistaken for one. Moreover, there is no evidence in the text to support this.

According to Bob, the old Delavigne printer .

Icarus talks about a pinball machine being "a frivolous expenditure".
In this context, an "expenditure" is a/an "".
According to Bob, the old Delavigne printer was disconnected 1.

Icarus talks about a pinball machine being "a frivolous expenditure".
In this context, an "expenditure" is a/an "expense 2".
1 was disconnected: This is the correct answer. Bob explains that the older printer was in fact only "unplugged", which means that it simply needed to be plugged into or connected to a power supply. "Unplugged" can also refer to an acoustic musical instrument, without any electronic amplification.
1 needed to be repaired: This is incorrect. Bob doesn't say that the printer needed to be repaired or "serviced". Bob originally thought that the printer was broken, but discovered that it was "unplugged".
1 was out of paper: This is incorrect. Bob doesn't say that the printer is "out of" or "lacking in" paper.
1 was an out-of-date model: This is incorrect. Bob doesn't say that the printer was an "out-of-date" model or that it needed to be replaced.
2 expense: An "expenditure" is an "expense", or the act of spending money on something. Example: The expenditures for the office included money spent on office supplies, furniture and new computer equipment.
2 deferment: A "deferment" is a payment (of a loan for example) which has been delayed or postponed to a later time. Example: The bank required the loan be paid back in October, but I asked for a deferment until December. A deferment is not the same things as an "expenditure" of money.
2 loan: A "loan" is (generally) money given to someone with the intention that it be repaid at a later date. Example: The bank required the "loan" be paid back in October. A "loan" of money is not the same as an "expenditure" of money.
2 loss: A "loss" of money refers to money which no longer belongs to its original owner: either it was spent, lost on the stock market for example, etc. Example: Our third quarter "losses" made the president very angry. A "loss" of money is not the same as an "expenditure" of money.

Fill in the blanks below with terms from Susie's email.

This term means "obsolete", "no longer in fashion" or "no longer current". "The computer model is outdated 1: we now have machines that are twice as small and ten times more powerful."

This term means to discuss something, specifically to give attention to a particular point of concern. "At today's meeting, we will address 2 Bob's concerns about his salary."
1 outdated: If something is "outdated" it is out of date, obsolete or antiquated. This term is a term often used to talk about technology, however in this email Susie uses it to describe Kevin's surplus bottles of Bordello Breeze, which are fragrances from last year.
2 address: "To address (an issue, a concern)", is "to talk over" or "to discuss" a specific point of concern. In US English, the verb "address" is pronounced with a stress on the 2nd syllable, but the noun "address" (the location of a person, company, etc.) is pronounced with a stress on the 1st syllable. In UK English, both forms of "address" are pronounced with a stress on the 2nd syllable.
