3 rotting: "Rotting", from the verb "to rot", describes a state of decay and decomposition. In this dialogue, Bruno says "If it weren't for me, you'd be rotting away in some stinking swamp in the Amazon!" The phrasal verb "to rot away" means "to decay over time". "Dull" also describes something that is lacking in liveliness or animation and is also synonymous with "boring" or "tedious".
