"Letterhead" is unrelated to any sort of bank statement, although some countries do require proof that a traveler has the financial means to exit a country once they have entered it.
A "letterhead" is a company's name or logo printed at the top of official writing paper. The term is also used to describe a blank sheet of paper with such a heading printed on it; this is what Vladimir asks for in his letter - possibly so that he can falsely represent the company!
