The square root of a number is a number that when multiplied by itself equals the first number. For example, the square root of 9 is 3. Pi is the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle (3.141…).
Icarus says several times that he can't find his calculator, and that it is "missing" from his desk. At the end of their conversation, Horatio implies that he has stolen it.
