I understand (that you enjoy golfing): He oído (que te gusta el golf)
Además de su sentido principal ("entender, comprender"), I understand... también corresponde a la expresión "he oído decir...":
I understand that you are looking to buy a new house. He oído que quieres comprar una nueva casa.
an understanding: un acuerdo, un entendimiento
