There is (há, existe) e there are (há, existem) em inglês

There is a phone on the desk. (Há um telefone na mesa.) Use there is (há/existe) + substantivo singular (aqui, a phone) para indicar que algo está presente em determinado lugar. Ex.: there is a hotel in the city centre (há um hotel no centro da cidade).

Are there skyscrapers in London? (Há arranha-céus em Londres?) com are there (há) + substantivo no plural, aqui skyscrapers (arranha-céus). Ex.: are there children in the park? (há crianças no parque?)

There are 50 rooms in the hotel. (Há 50 quartos no hotel.) com there are (há/existem) + substantivo no plural (50 rooms). Ex.: there are many people in the room (há muita gente no quarto).
