Ever vs never
Ever entspricht dem Wort 'jemals/niemals' und wird in Verneinungssätzen, Fragesätzen oder Sätzen, die einen Zweifel ausdrücken, eingesetzt. Es ist somit der Gegensatz zu always (immer):
