Marie-France est la femme de Jean-Pierre means “Marie-France is Jean-Pierre's wife”. This makes Jean-Pierre le mari (the husband) of Marie-France. We can also use the terms l'épouse (the wife, the spouse) and l'époux (the husband, the spouse). Example: la femme/l'épouse de Jean-Pierre s'appelle Marie-France (Jean-Pierre's wife/spouse is called Marie-France).

2 le père :

Jean-Pierre est le père de Jean-Marc (Jean-Pierre is Jean-Marc's father). In general, children call their father papa (dad, daddy). Example: mon père/papa habite à Lausanne (my father/dad lives in Lausanne).

3 petit ami  :

Jean-Luc est le petit ami de Jean-Marc (Jean-Luc is Jean-Marc's boyfriend). Le petit copain is another term for “boyfriend”. To say “girlfriend”, we use petite amie or petite copine. Example: Pierre est le petit ami/petit copain de Marie (Pierre is Marie's boyfriend); Anne est ma petite amie/petite copine (Anne is my girlfriend).
