« Bah mon patron 1, d’abord c’est une femme 2 […] Mauvaise réponse 3 ! »

1 patron :

Bah mon patron (Well, my boss). We could also use the terms mon chef (masculine) and ma cheffe (feminine) to mean “my boss”. Examples: super ! Mon patron est en vacances ! (great! My boss is on vacation); ma cheffe part à Cuba (my boss is going to Cuba).

2 femme :

Bah mon patron, d’abord c’est une femme (Well my boss, first of all she's a woman). In one of the many quirks of the French language, the first e in femme is pronounced . Example: Betty Lamour est une femme extraordinaire (Betty Lamour is an extraordinary woman). Well, that's one way of describing her!

3 réponse :

Mauvaise réponse ! (Wrong answer!). Une réponse (an answer) is what we give when we are asked une question (a question). The corresponding verb is répondre répondre, présent (to answer). Example: j'attends ta réponse (I'm waiting for your answer).
