Je vais au travail (I go to work). If you're wondering why vais (I go) and aller (to go) look nothing like each other, it's because aller is irregular aller, présent. You will often use aller + à/au (to) + the name of a place. Examples: je vais à la piscine (I go to the pool); je vais au bureau (I'm going to the office).

Il/elle va au travail (He/she goes to work). Note that we also use aller (to go) to talk about how we're doing, how we are. Example: - Comment ça va ? - Je vais bien, merci (-How is it going? -I'm doing well, thanks). Or literally, “I'm going well”.

Vous allez au travail (You go to work). Note that as well as à/au (to), we often use aller (to go) with chez + the name of a person, or moi (me), toi (you), etc. This refers to the person's home. Examples: vous allez chez Betty (you're going to Betty's); vous allez chez moi (you're going to my place).

Je vois le chat (I see the cat). Joy of joys, voir (to see) is also irregular in the present tense voir, présent, although it's admittedly not as weird-looking as aller. Note that vois is used after both je (I) and tu (you). Example: je vois mes amis tous les jours (I see my friends every day); Tu vois Léa ce soir ? (Are you seeing Léa tonight?).

Il/elle voit le chat (He/she sees the cat). Have you noticed that this verb (like many verbs) is pronounced in exactly the same way for je (I), tu (you) and il/elle (he/she)? Example: Betty voit la vie en rose (Betty sees life through rose-tinted glasses, literally “sees life in pink”).

Vous voyez le chat (You see the cat). Note that the -i- in voir becomes a -y- after nous (we) and vous (plural/formal “you”). Example: vous voyez la lune ? (Can you see the moon?).
