to transpire: to become known; to occur, to take place, to happen
verb
to transpire is a false friend and does not mean to sweat, to perspire.
to transpire is usually used as a synonym of to happen to emphasize the importance of a current or past event.

It transpired that... It happened that... (rarely used)
The events which transpired on that day were historic. The events which happened on that day will never be forgotten.
