Le passé composé : les verbes en -re ou -r avec un participe passé en -u.
The verbs pleuvoir (to rain) and croire (to believe) have past participles that end in -u. To create them, retain the first two consonants of the verb only and add -u (pleuvoir plu, croire cru). The same goes for plaire (to please), croître (to grow) and accroître (to increase). They are conjugated in the passé composé in the following way :
