From the list below, select the sentences which use "a line of..." correctly.
"A line of merchandise" is a series or collection of products or merchandise. If Delavigne releases a new line of cosmetic products, they will put out a collection of similar products at once, for example all of the products might be part of a spring or summer collection.
"A line of work" can't refer to a simple promotion or a change of job title or even responsibility. If a line of work has changed, then the sector of the profession has changed. For example: a teacher who becomes a lawyer has changed their line of work.
On its own, the term "line" can't refer to a profession or a type of professional activity. In order to indicate the sense of a profession or a sector of activity, we use the expressions "a line of work" or "a line of business".
"A line of business", like the idiom Bruno uses (a line of work) refers to a sector of professional activity. More specifically, the idiom refers to the principal activity in life which permits you to earn money. A line of business could be "construction", "teaching" or "singing".

Select the TRUE statement(s) from the list below, according to Philip's email.

There may be more than one correct answer!
This statement is incorrect. Although Philip writes that "Smells R Us" renewed "their orders for the upcoming year", he also says that he persuaded the company to "add our line of lotions to their shelves". A "line (of cosmetics)" is a series of similar products released by the same company. The term "shelves" shares a similar meaning with stores (or shops), although it more accurately describes a flat surface used for storing or displaying objects.
This statement is incorrect. Philip writes that Icarus was "able to secure payment for the unpaid invoices." This means that "Smells R Us" guaranteed payment for their unpaid invoices, not that the payment is now partially paid. "To secure (a payment)" is to obtain or guarantee it. Example: After 33 hours of intense negotiations and fish-eating, we secured a historic business deal with the Inuits.
This is a true statement. Philip says that Icarus is "facing some prison time" which he can get "reduced to a suspended license". This means that Icarus risks going to prison, however Philip thinks that he can negotiate for Icarus to temporarily lose his driving license instead.
This statement is incorrect. Philip says that he will be able to use his "Cheeter charm" (the act of Philip Cheeter being charming) to reduce the sentence from a period in prison to a suspension of Icarus' driving license. "Cheeter Charm" is a nice name for a perfume however, you should ask Horatio Oléré to start making it.
