Brent announces that a baby panda named Huan Huan II has been born.

From the list below, select all the TRUE statements about the panda and its family.
Brent says that the baby panda was the "fourth panda ever to be born on American soil". Huan Huan II was not the first panda to be born in America, but the fourth, meaning that there were three others before him. Note that in this context the word "soil" refers to "land" or "territory" and not literally the "earth" or ground', as it does in another context. For example: Plant these flowers in the soil.
Moira says that the baby panda's mother was a "gift" from the Chinese government. The words "gift" and "present" are synonymous in this context (and many others).
Brent reports that "a baby panda was born yesterday at the National Zoo in Washington DC. The panda has been named Huan Huan II". If an animal is born in a zoo, it is said to be born "in captivity", or under human supervision. If the panda had been born naturally without human supervision, we would say that the panda had been born "in the wild". Did you know: Only 20 pandas have ever been born in captivity outside China!
Moira says that the panda was given to the states by "the Chinese government to celebrate the fall of the Soviet Empire". The mother came from China, not from the former Soviet Union. The panda was given to the States in recognition of the fall (or the collapse or end) of the Soviet empire.
