At the end of her email, Polly writes "let me know how it goes". She wants to know how Susie's review went, or she wants feedback about the review. Polly also mentions that she might be next, meaning that she is worried about her own review with Miss Stake.
Polly writes to Susie that Miss Stake "mentioned that your frequent business trips are a source of concern for her" which indicates that Miss Stake has some concerns about Susie's travel schedule and that she is "troubled by the amount of traveling that Susie does".
Polly does not write that Miss Stake will be "training" anyone. Miss Stake will "create detailed reports of each employee's efficiency," and "compile a comprehensive study of general effectiveness". Miss Stake is reviewing the Delavigne staff and analyzing their efficiency. She is not "training" them.
Bruno has hired Miss Stake as a "gesture of good faith" towards the investors, which is a way of showing that he is listening to their concerns and respects them. However, there is no indication that Bruno himself is concerned with their lack of productivity. Bruno's expression actually indicates that he isn't concerned with his staff's efficiency, but that he has approved the review just because he wants to show the investors that he is listening. A "lack" of something is a shortage, deficiency or absence.
