Definition

a lobby: an entrance hall, a foyer, a reception area noun
to lobby for something/to do something means put pressure on a person or group (for example the government) in order to persuade them to do something.

Examples

  • "Why don't you meet me at the lobby of the downtown Grand Duke Hotel in two hours?"
  • "In the lobby you'll be met by an associate of mine."
