Bruno writes "lowered into the ground". Which of the following sentences use(s) to lower correctly?

There may be more that one correct choice!
This is correct. "To lower" is often used to describe a reduction in amount, price, degree, or force. For example: "unemployment has lowered since they lowered the amount of income support for people without jobs".
This is incorrect. Physically, it is of course possible "to lower one's arms" (decrease the height of your arms). However "to lower one's arms" is not used as an idiom to describe the act of "giving up", "surrendering" or "abandoning" something. A better idiom to use might be "to throw in the towel". For example: "The test was too difficult so I decided to throw in the towel".
This a correct choice. "To lower" means to cause to descend or to make or become less high. A flag is a piece of cloth that is often used as a symbol of a nation. For example, the Union Jack (the British flag) is lowered above Buckingham Palace when the Queen is not at home. In the email, Brian writes "a birthday is no different than a funeral - both events indicate that you are moving closer to being lowered into the ground". This is a reference to being buried, where a coffin with a dead body in it is placed into a hole. But please don't get depressed!
This is not correct. It would be more natural to say, "the police dropped the charges against the suspect". "To release" means to liberate or free someone from captivity. To "drop charges" means to withdraw or cease to pursue legal action.

Select the TRUE statements from the list below according to the dialogue you just heard.

There may be more than 1.
This is a true statement. Mrs Lee says 'most of our clients are foreign companies like the Delavigne Corporation'. A 'foreign' company is one which comes from a different country.
This statement is incorrect. Kevin says that there is 'a great deal of pressure for American companies to adhere to international human rights standards', however he never 'threatens' or 'promises' to end his company's relationship with ChinaCorp. Kevin is simply curious to investigate the working conditions at the factory personally.
This statement is incorrect. In this scene, Kevin does not mention that he wants ChinaCorp to 'lower' or 'reduce' its prices. It is Mrs Lee who proposes to produce Delavigne products 'cheaply'.
This is a true statement. Kevin says 'We are curious about the conditions of the workers here at ChinaCorp Ltd.' Kevin is interested in knowing what the working conditions are like at the factory. This is one of the main purposes of Kevin's visit to the factory.
Exercise 3
Bruno proposes several possibilities to Kevin in response to his requests.
Which of the following is NOT one of Bruno's proposals?

Bruno proposes several possibilities to Kevin in response to his requests.
Which of the following is NOT one of Bruno's proposals?
Bruno suggests that they should "end this meeting now", which expresses that Bruno wants to conclude their meeting.
This is the only choice which is not true. Bruno has another appointment, and so he wants Kevin to leave his office as soon as possible. He never proposes continuing the meeting at a different time.
Bruno suggests to Kevin that they should "shake hands and end this meeting".
Bruno actually asks Kevin if he wants to talk about "lowering" his salary, which means to "decrease" or "reduce" Kevin's pay.
