Remember: the Partizip II (past participle) is used to form the perfect tense (among other things).
Ich habe den ganzen Tag geschlafen.
I slept all day.
Anna hat Magda angerufen.
Anna has phoned Magda.
With separable verbs Trennbares Verb, the past participle has ‑ge‑ sandwiched between the prefix and the stem of the verb:
prefix + -ge- + stem → angerufen (phoned)
Caroline hat die Suppe umgerührt.
Caroline stirred the soup.
Unser Chef ist im Meeting eingeschlafen.
Our boss fell asleep in the meeting.
Wir sind hinausgegangen.
We went out.
