Les chiffres : l’accord de cent et vingt

Cent (hundred) and vingt (twenty) are invariable (they don’t change form) when followed by another number.
huit cent quatre (804)
quatre-vingt-douze (92)
quatre cent quatre-vingt-deux (482)
Cent and vingt take an s when no number follows.
Deux cents (200)
Six cents (600)
Quatre-vingts (80)
Huit cent quatre-vingts (880)
Notes:
•  Cent and vingt take an s when followed by milliers (thousand), millions (million) and milliards (billion). These terms are considered to be nouns, not numbers.
Trois cents milliers d’habitants. (300,000 inhabitants)
Quatre-vingts millions d’euros. (80 million euros)
•  Mille (thousand) is always invariable, and never takes the plural form.
Trois mille cinq cents (3500)
Deux mille (2000)
