Prepositions of place: à, chez and en
We use the preposition à (to, at) and its derivatives À + article before place names.
You're going to the bakery.
We're going to the movies.
We use chez (at, to) before the name of a person or a profession, or a tonic pronoun like moi (me) or toi (you)PRONOMS TONIQUES.
I am at Anna's place.
Théo is going to the hairdresser.
We are at my place.
When referring to countries, we use au (to, in) before a masculine country name beginning with a consonant, and aux (to the, in the) before a plural country name.
You're going to Morocco.
Manon lives in the United States.
In other cases, we generally use en (in, to).
We live in Egypt.
Nadia is going to Switzerland.
