The recent past: venir de + infinitive verb

We use the present tense of venir venir, présent (to come) + de + infinitive verb, e.g. arriver (to arrive), manger (to eat), partir (to leave), etc., to talk about an event that took place a very short time ago. It is the equivalent of “has just, have just” in English.
